It is obvious that audio conferencing is here to stay. As a simple definition, audio conferencing is a virtual conference wherein discussion can actually take place even if the participants are in different locations. Out of the ones mentioned, an audio conferencing phone is probably the most widely used by companies today.

VOIP Technology is one type of phone system used for audio conferences. VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Instead of using the standard copper wire, VOIP is an internet-based technology that uses digital signal to send over audio data through the internet. This type of phone system functions pretty much like regular phones.

A digital interface on the computer is used instead of using actual telephones. Depending on what type of software is used, the features available are the same: call waiting, caller ID and voice mail; all of which can be made availble for consumers to opt for. Microphone and headset are the only hardware widely used by participants.

There are other teleconferencing options that can be used in combination with audio conferencing, and this even provides the best service. Essentially, it is always best to choose the most suitable audio conferencing system to match the need of the company.

It is noteworthy that not all audio conferences go smoothly, but it is best to have the right phone system. There are times when technical problems do happen. Lines may be cutoff, audio might not be clear and excessive background noise might just be some of the problems that can be encountered while conducting a teleconference. It is always best to be prepared in order to avoid these conditions.|It is a fact that not all audio conferences go smoothly. There are times when technical problems do happen. Some of the problems that may arise, while conducting an audio conference are: lines that are cut-off, unclear audio reception, or worse, excessive background noise.  Things like these should be anticipated and avoided as much as possible.

In times when the use of VOIP is not possible, here are some tips on how you can make the most out of your conference call.

• Find a quiet location – Always best to hold the conference in a quiet place. It is easier to focus when there is minimal distractions.

• Avoid using a mobile phone if possible – Cell phones generally give off static and background noise. To give consideration to the other parties, it is always wise to put the phone on mute, if not in use, since this will definitely lessen the static noise.

• Try not to place calls on hold – Doing this can be distracting to most participants, especially if you have some funky hold music in the background; the others won’t only hear it, they will need to endure it until you return on the line.

Making use of an audio conferencing phone or service has its perks and its quirks. Knowing how to handle the technology you are using is the best way to maximize its advantages.

Smart Phones Could Help Your Business Out

Tags: , , ,

With the release of various smart phones are companies choosing to hand their employees the iPhone rather than get technology for their landlines like 0800 numbers and premium rate phone numbers?

The Reasons

Tracking

There are several reasons why companies are looking at handing out smart phones to many of their employees. Many bosses love to keep track of where their employees are for a trust relationship and you can track smart phones. You can then see exactly what your employees are up too. Are they really ill or have they gone into town to buy something cool for themselves?

Kindness

If someone was to receive one of these phones then they are going to feel a hell of lot better about the company and feel like they are very valued. if you give your employees all of the latest gadgets then you are showing that you really care about them and it could help them to work a bit harder as their morale's are going to be higher.

More Work?

It is not just emails that can be accessed via the phones but other things too however email is something that is very useful. No more will the first 30+ minutes of the day be wasted answering emails as they can now do it all from home.

Negatives

There are however a few downsides to doing something like this and the initial costing is a big one. A lot of the phones that you can get are pay as you go but truth be told you are better off paying for all of the contracts for the employees. If you have lot of people within the office then it could end up costing you a lot of money.

You are still going to need systems like the fax to email in place as the smart phone is not quite clever enough to redirect faxes into an email format just yet.

The Battle Of The Phones

Tags: , ,

So onwards with the debate on whether or not the mobile phone is actually a better thing to use than the landline is the final part of the argument.

Charging

One of the major issues with the mobile is the fact that the batter life on most of them is poor? Believe it or not the landline actually does this a lot as well. This is really due to the fact that many people now have landlines that are very similar to the mobile as you can have two or more wireless phones that act like the mobile. Yeah they are cool, yea they save you having to run downstairs to get the phone but they take ages to charge and have very little life on them. If you have one of these phones then surely you may as well just use a mobile?

Landline Advances

So as you can see the landline is being forced to switch into an almost mobile device however there are many landline features that are currently unique to the landline that actually make it something worthwhile. The phone/fax machine is something that many businesses and households have and it is just such a great invention as you do not have to fork out loads of cash for a fax machine and a phone.

Although not technically something the landline has, fax to email is certainly a great invention as it will turn all of the incoming faxes into emails and send them off to whoever needs to have them.

The Truth

The mobile is far more used than the landline because people can take it with them and also it has a lot more features too. The other thing is that you can get things like premium rate phone numbers and 0800 numbers on your mobile phone which is why a lot of businesses are choosing to give out mobiles rather than spend money on landlines.

However the choice in which you make is really yours!
