Keep Your Job In The Office Party Minefield

Tags: , , ,

The office party season is here, but it’s also a minefield of inappropriate behaviour and potential sackings that it’s best to be mindful of when you’re having fun. Even the model employee can become a demon at these events, so bear in mind the following pointers and you’ll still be clocking in at serviced offices London the next Monday.

  • Do remember that this is a business event. You’ll need to find a measured medium between office formality and the level of wildness you reach with your mates. Your boss is watching your every move, and even if they’re not, you should act like they are.
  • Dressing appropriately is important. Even in your trendy serviced offices Soho you should not dress as though you are going clubbing. Conservative party clothes are a safe bet, but if no dress code is provided always be sure to ask if the attire is formal, semi-formal or casual.
  • Just because of you’re no longer in the stuffy confines serviced offices Victoria isn’t going to pay any more attention to you, so it’s best to drop it altogether. Office romances are patently unworkable. But your biggest concern is that being inappropriate and flirting with co-workers comes with the same potential legal and social dangers it does in the office.
  • Do use moderation, especially if there is an open bar or buffet. Drinking and eating excessively is not only rude, but it can also lead to some serious trouble if you lose control.
  • Talk to everyone, and talk well. Whilst networking is actively encouraged, don’t be too aggressive if you’re a visibly career-concious individual. Strengthening relationships with your fellow employees local and in other departments will ultimately make your working life easier.
  • Make sure you know whether guests are invited. It’s rare that bringing a plus one is essential, but sometimes it can help your image. But on other occasions, things might be employee only.
  • Do offer sincere thanks to the person or persons responsible for organising the party. These functions are always a lot of work and a little note of appreciation can go a long way.

The Office Must Still Run In The Snow!

Tags: , , ,

With freezing tempertures hitting the UK worse than ever this year the weather has been pretty bad the last few days. So what happens when it snows so much that you have things like trains and buses with delayed services and the roads worse than an indoor icerink?

Fight It??

Many companies just tend to get on with it, including ours. All you have to do is try and encourage people to come in if they can. If you are fortunate enough that you work for a company that you could in fact do some of the work at home then this always becomes an option and there are many companies out there that would rather you kick back at home and work than risk coming in to do the same thing on executive chairs.

There is something that comes into a lot of heads, why on earth cant I work from home all the time?? A very important reason for not staying at home is the customers, they will want to talk to you a lot of the time and once they have your private number they can annoy you any time at all. On top of all of this you shouldnt perhaps have a lot of the work files at your home computer. What if someone gets into the files at home, well then its your fault. In the office on the other hand, well that means it isnt your fault.

Are You A Loser??

Many companies simply shut down when it comes to the snow as they cant be bothered with all of the hassle that comes with it. If you are doing this then there is no doubt about it, you are losing money, a lot of it.

So stop slacking and get back into those serviced offices London, and get your butts back on the executive office furniture.

Desk Gadgets

Tags: , ,

There are many gadgets out on the market just for the office. What are the ones you really should think about getting?

USB Gadgets

There are many USB gadgets out there and they work really well in an office full of computers. One of my personal favourites is the USB fridge as it can keep a normal sized can of drink cool by simply plugging it into a USB slot. You can also get something like a USB cup warmer that will keep your drink nice and warm for you as it is often easy to forget about a drink when you are doing some really in depth work.

Sound Hats

What if you are not allowed music at work? Put one of these hats on and your boss will just think you are cold in these winter monthes when you are listening to music. When of course you know you are listening to your favourite tunes.

Stress Balls

Okay so they aren’t really as important gadgets as the previous ones but they sure as hell come in handy if you turn up for work in a very bad mood. Useful if you are late, get told off by the boss or if you are the boss and want to bash some skulls.

USB Hubs

These will provide you with many places to plug USB bits and bobs into. These things are cool because they are made for everyone in that you can get one in the form of a Ferrari or in the form of the tardis.

All of these things can make a difference to those boring serviced offices and if these gadgets aren’t enough for you then look into getting some more interesting office furniture. So buy office furniture that is a bit different to see a difference in the way people work, you never know it could make a difference
